Santa’s Big Day has come and went. We had much fun watching the kids.
Casey, at three years of age, provided lots of entertainment. We see no signs of that slacking off any time soon. He’s a real hoot. Last week he told his mother she needed to go see the make-up girls so she could be hot…
At any rate, we are having fun.
Kyle and his bride-to-be, Karissa Lupo, are here and we are so glad to be able to spend a whole week with them. No doubt Kyle and I will enjoy watching football together all the way through New year’s Day. And Karissa? No two parents could be happier with their son’s choice for a partner in life than we are with her.
My beautiful wife–who needs no help from Casey’s imaginary make-up girls–has kept the house smelling good with holiday food. We are enjoying a vacation break–and we may get to slip out for a few hours one night. Although I wouldn’t count on it because the honest truth is neither of us want to be away from the house with all of our kids here.
While our story is different from yours, I suspect that for most of us, the end result is the same. We are so very blessed.
God bless! And enjoy!

Do you remember the Monotones? No, I am not referring to my preaching… A few of you may remember, although most of us will not. However, we might remember their one hit wonder from all the way back in 1958 (before I was even a gleam in my daddy’s eye) Who Wrote the Book of Love?
Who wrote the book of love?
That’s a serious question. Book sellers and bookshelves are full of tomes all written to help you understand what love is supposed to look like—how to find it, how to keep from losing it, and how to get it back. Judging from what I hear and see on a regular basis, lots of folks need real help in saving their relationships and making them thrive.
1 John 4:8, 16 makes the definitive statement: God is love.
If God is love, and I believe He is, then it stands to reason that not only is He the source of love, but He is also the purest and best book that could ever be written on it.
Want to have a better relationship with your wife, your husband? How about your children? Are there co-workers, employers, employees, or neighbors whose strained connections cause you some serious heartburn?
The answer to any relationship, and I do mean any relationship where you are either the wronged or the one doing wrong is to imitate the love of God.
Yes, I understand that relationships can be complicated—we can and do have situations that defy understanding. I really do get that. But call me simple if you want because there isn’t a relationship or person who wouldn’t be better off if we loved like God…
In fact, if you would like to work on having a better relationship with Him, then love others like He loves us!
Who wrote the book of love? I know and you know. The question is not who, but what and how we will love!
