Easter Sunday
Orange Grove
After over a year and a half without a building of our own, today we had our first service in the new building.
Resurrection Sunday was a resurrection day in many ways. We had a baptism. We had another response for confession and prayers.
We sang and prayed and studied and even shed a tear or two.
And above all else, as we were together being family in this new place, we gave and still give God all the glory.
225 were in attendance.
I can hardly wait to see what next Sunday’s grand opening will bring. Flyers have been mailed, two TV ads have been produced, and we pray that God blesses us even more with greater opportunities to reach out into our community.
Come join us next Sunday!

it’s Sunday afternoon. Kyle is home from college but off doing college things with the Landmark college ministry. Cole is quiet in his room. Conner is with friends. And Casey and Karen are both napping.
So what to do?
i have TV shows dvred.
The paper has a special section on one of my all time fav football players, local hero Brett Farve.
it is close to 70 degrees here and beautiful outside–my new car is calling me to lovingly wash it,
So what to do?
I think the answer is to pretend to watch tv and read… and have a wonderful Sunday afternoon nap.
May you be so blessed!
Nighty-night!

PS–My father is in the Ukraine and my brother and his oldest son left for Honduras this morning–Kyle leaves tomorrow for a week of ministry in Houston–prayers would be greatly appreciated!!!
I grew up the oldest of four kids. Two boys and two girls. We took many family trips–mainly to visit far off grandparents. I remember a number of the family vehicles we had, but mostly I remember the full sized-fake wood paneling on the sides-Country Squire Ford station wagons.
Noah’s Ark-on-wheels coming at ya!
Sometimes we would take turns lying in the back or we might open the floor to reveal the two small folding bench seats. However we traveled, it was always a trip.
Those old cars had a huge back door that could open like a regular door or fold down like a tailgate. It was a convenient place for what we called highway whipping’s. I don’t remember my sisters being the object of such side-of-the road encounters, but me and my brother certainly had them!
It didn’t matter how far we had left to travel, the question are we there yet? was always answered with the words almost there!
My buddy, the King of Blogs has been talking about cars on his blog–that and the title of this post prompted my memory.
Almost there.
For those of us who belong to the Orange Grove church, we hear those words and instinctively know we are talking about our new church building.
Almost there. There is a chance we will meet in our new building this coming Sunday.
Almost there.
Almost there.
